It is uttergarbage.- Fixed Drones being unable to build if Custom Keys were enabled. So if someone has low fps it supposedly reduces yours, or increases your ping at least. It has to wait before actions of both players are rendered, before it can do anything else. But engine is trash, it doesn’t take advantage of multicore cpu and bottlenecks gpu and if someone has fps drops, clients are linked. So now i have 30- fps on 4.1ghz i7 3770 and geforce 780, my gpu runs on 15% … Luckily i will have new computer for vr, 2070 super 5ghz imhz ram. Even lotv was fine, until some patch 4.6 i think. ![]() I have never in my life experienced fps drops in hots. And than on some random garbage computer it is fine…Īnd they broken performance since lotv, they made game more demanding, yet engine is same crap and ironic is they promised better performance with come of lotv. It should but i read so many posts people with 1080 and 4 ghz cpu reports 30 fps.Įven 750 should be more than enough, problem is there is to many hw configurations. The problem again just like with everything else in Reforged that they had too small team, not enough resources and certainly not long enough development time with the team/resources they had. So technically as long as you have the resources, the talent and the will, you can do quite a lot even with such old game engine. I mean Halo: CE and Halo 2 Anniversaries were also made to run on top of the original game engines, and they did quite good job with both of them. The thing is if Blizzard had BOTHERED enough they could have done good remaster/remake with the original game engine…I mean heck Titanfall 2 used Source engine from 2004 (although ofc heavily improved and modified) just some 2-3 years ago. Thats also the reason why they dont bother with first 2 Warcraft games, they might just as well use that money and resources for something else…essentially too much money+ resources would have to be used from other projects and when they were not even able to deliver with the current product, what makes you think that they would have bothered with bigger remake on different game engine? Plus like said if they had changed the game engine, then essentially they would have had to remake the entire game and that was something they were NEVER going to do. It just doesnt work that way and from beginning they made it clear that the game would be made on top of the original WC3 engine in order to have the game playing exactly the same way as the original + have it compatible with most of the custom game maps that were created over the years…that + making original WC3 players able to play with Reforged players (and ofc that with so many other things failed miserably…)Īnyhow those were their reasons to stick with the original game engine. SC2 and WC3 engines are likely very, VERY different, so its not as simple as to just transfer WC3 map files into SC2 engine and voila you have WC3 remaster running on SC2 engine… Because they would have had to remake the game essentially from scratch.
